My brother was arrested about an hour ago and he was taken to the Maguire Jail to be booked. We want to get him out ASAP because he’s supposed to start a new job tonight. How fast can we take him out?
Unfortunately, the arrest, booking and bail bonds process can often take between 8 and 12 hours from the time a defendant is arrested until the time they are released from jail. When someone is taken into custody, they’ll need to be transported to the jail. When they arrive, they’ll undergo an intake interview, they’ll be photographed and they’ll have their fingerprints taken. After they are fingerprinted, the jail will perform a national background and warrant check on the defendant, which typically takes 4 to 6 hours to complete. Bail bonds cannot be posted until after the warrant check results come back. When the bond is posted, the defendant will not be released immediately, as it generally takes the jail another 4 to 6 hours to process the release paperwork.
