A spokesperson for the San Mateo Police Department has confirmed that three suspects who are believed to be linked to 50 or more auto burglaries have been arrested and booked at the Maguire Jail.
Police said that during the most recent incident, a witness at a local Whole Foods heard what sounded like shattering glass. They also saw a male fleeing from the grocer’s parking lot and taking off with two other alleged suspects.
San Mateo Police Department officials were quick to respond, according to a report by KRON4.com, and noted the suspects matched a bulletin that had been sent out 40 minutes earlier from a nearby law enforcement agency. That bulletin, they said, related to another auto burglary.
Officers swarmed the area and found the getaway car in another parking lot. The suspects then took off and led police on a high-speed chase. The getaway car eventually got a flat tire and that’s when the suspects were captured.
The two adult suspects were booked at the Maguire Jail; the juvenile suspect was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
