Members of the Pacifica Police Department have responded to a myriad of calls in the past two weeks. Below are just some of the incidents they encountered.
Officers responded to a call on Dec. 30 pertaining to two suspicious men who were seen opening and closing car doors. They proceeded to yell at a local woman who then called police. No arrests were made. Later that day the Pacifica PD sent out a squad car to investigate a possible domestic disturbance. A person who was out taking a walk saw a man who they believed was choking a woman passenger in a parked car. Anyone who is arrested and charged with domestic violence in San Mateo County will be transported to one of the Redwood City jails to be booked and processed. Bail for this offence typically ranges between $25,000 and $50,000. The cost to purchase Redwood City bail bonds is 10% of that total amount.
On Jan. 2, the department received another domestic disturbance call. Officers said a neighbor called in letting them know they heard a woman screaming very loudly in an adjacent home. It is unclear whether an arrest was made.
The following day a vehicle was reportedly stolen off Brighton Road. The suspect remains at large. Bail amounts for grand theft auto often exceed $20,000.
