A Pescadero man who was arrested last weekend on hit and run charges has admitted he was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest. The accident took place in Half Moon Bay, according to reports, and San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies were quick to respond.
Deputies said the accident took place on Purissima Street but when they arrived, the driver had fled on foot. The person in the car that the suspect hit was not injured, they said, but their vehicle had been damaged.
Authorities said they located the 46 year-old suspect short time later; he seemed to be under the influence of a narcotic. The suspect eventually admitted he was high on methamphetamine.
According to a report by KRON4, the suspect was booked at the San Mateo County Jail on multiple felony charges. His bail bonds information was not immediately known. It’s unclear whether this is the man’s first arrest or if he has been taken into custody in the past.
