San Mateo Police say they’re trying to determine the identity of a burglar who was caught in the act by his intended victim.
The incident took place in late April, according to a report by the San Mateo Daily Journal, when an unknown man broke into a local residence; his intention was to burglarize the place, police note, but the homeowner woke up before the crime was complete.
He heard some noise, the report notes, so he got up and exited his bedroom. He spotted the suspect, the suspect spotted him and the would-be robber took off. He ran out the front door and his victim eventually lost sight of him.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male that weighs about 180 pounds. Anyone who thinks they have information that could lead to his arrest is asked to call the San Mateo Police.
