A spokesperson for the San Mateo Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that deputies have arrested a man who led them on a high speed chase earlier this week.
Authorities said the incident started at about 9pm on August 7, when a patrol car tried to pull a driver over on suspicion of drunk driving.
The driver was having none of that, they said, and laid his foot on the gas pedal. The pursuit reached high speeds; the chase eventually ended after the driver crashed the vehicle.
According to a report by Kron4.com, suspect and his four passengers were detained. Two of the suspects were adults while the remaining three were listed as minors. Two of the juveniles were found to have outstanding warrants, the third was held on vehicle theft charges, evasion conspiracy and other charges.
A 20 year-old man was arrested and booked at the San Mateo County Jail on numerous felony charges. His bail bonds information was not immediately known.
