Maguire Jail Bail Bonds Information
If a woman is arrested in San Mateo County, she may first be transported to the San Mateo County Jail, also called the Maguire Correctional Facility. If not, then she will be taken directly to the San Mateo Women’s Jail. Both facilities are run by the Sheriff’s Department and house anyone arrested in the county. Each of these jails are severely overcrowded, so it is best to work quickly to get your loved one out as soon as possible.
When someone is brought into either facility for booking, they will be fingerprinted, photographed and searched for any weapons or drugs. A background check and warrant search will be done when the defendant’s information is entered into the computer system. Any personal belongings will be held until they are released. They will have access to a phone in order to make a call to friends, family or a bail bondsman.
Once booking is complete, we can post bail for anyone in the San Mateo Women’s Jail 24-hours a day. If she is not bailed out, then she will remain in jail until her court case has been resolved.
It could take several hours, after bail is posted, for her to be released, depending on how busy jail staff is at the time. Safety is always the highest priority for San Mateo County Jails.
Bail Bond Fees
The bail bond fee is 10% of the defendant’s bail. So, if your loved one has a $20,000 bail, you will need to pay $2,000 to the bondsman. This fee is set by the California Department of Insurance and cannot be increased or decreased for any reason. We offer many convenient payment options to help make it easier to afford the cost of a bail bond. Many clients may even qualify for financing with no extra fees.
Payments can be made with cash or credit card, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
The paperwork for a bail bond is simple and can be completed in the office, over the phone, by fax or email.
When you call to speak with a bondsman, we will explain your responsibilities as a cosigner of the bail bond. You agree to be responsible for making sure that the defendant appears for her court case. If the defendant refuses to return to court, you will be held financially liable for the remaining amount of the bail as well as any court fees and costs.
